Reception

The Reception immediately followed the ceremony at the (not so newly renovated) Tewksbury Elks Club. While the wedding party was taking pictures, guests got to enjoy Hor D’oeuvers of Assorted Cheese and Crackers, Italian Meatballs, and Polish Kielbasa with sweet and sour sauce. While eating and talking, they also got to watch a photomontage of Christine and I growing up and dating. It came out pretty good. I didn't get to see it on the big screen, but it'll be on the wedding video. Click Here to see the Growing Up Photo Montage by Bay State Productions.

The wedding party was announced at about 5:00. Christine and I got to walk out to The Lord of the Rings Theme. It was cool. We did our first dance to Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion and Puebo Bryson. I think it was nice. We had a sort of Beauty and the Beast theme going. Laura made an amazing Enchanted Rose centerpiece for the head table and Be Our Guest from the Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack played while dinner was served.

Dinner was choice of Chicken Piccata or Roast Strip Sirloin w/Bordelaise Sauce. Accompanying dinner was Fancy Rolls with butter, Cranberry Sauce, Broccoli au Gratin, and Real Whipped Potatoes. Dessert was Wedding Cake with Ice Cream and Strawberries. Coffee, Tea, and Freshly Brewed Decaf were also served.

John gave a great speech. There were no embarrassing stories in it, which made me happy. Neil "Romeo" Paris from Kiss 108 was the MC for the night. There weren't a lot of people on the dance floor, but I'd have been lost without him. We had someone to coordinate the wedding for us, but she dropped out at the last minute. Neil pulled through and took that weight right off my shoulders. He took care of everything, including speeding things up when we fell behind with picture taking.

We cut the cake (even if it did take us five hours), tossed the bouquet (Laura took off a few heads to catch it), and tossed the garter. It was funny, none of my friends are big garter catching kind of guys, but as soon as Laura caught the bouquet, they all jumped on the floor for the garter. A few even came up to me and begged me to throw it to them. Surprisingly, JP hardly moved a muscle to catch it, leaving John and Ed to fight over it. When it came down to loosing an arm, Ed lost his grip and John was the victor. (Sorry Ed) And contrary to what some believe, I did not aim for John when I threw the garter.

There were a LOT of people at the reception. I noticed, that while making our rounds, we missed a few tables. If Christine and I missed you, I apologize. It was a very fast and confusing time trying to say hello and thank you to everyone.
